The Zone Franche net­work will be present at the inter­na­tion­al trade fair Wom­ex from Octo­ber 22 to 26 in Tam­pere (Fin­land), a cru­cial moment for World Music pro­fes­sion­als.

The French del­e­ga­tion will be rep­re­sent­ed in the “French Vil­lage” set up by Zone Franche and the Cen­tre Nation­al de la Musique. Near­ly 20 struc­tures will be present at the Zone Franche stands. The net­work will also pro­vide its mem­bers with meet­ing and work spaces at stands 94 and 95. Net­work mem­bers will also be able to ben­e­fit from quick meet­ings with French and for­eign pro­gram­mers.

This year, Zone Franche has decid­ed to cre­ate a ded­i­cat­ed space to dis­cov­er the CooProg co-pro­gram­ming plat­form. This plat­form, devised by ONDA for live per­for­mances, has been adapt­ed by Zone Franche for use with con­tem­po­rary music over the past year. To reduce the car­bon foot­print of artists’ tours, it is vital that pro­gram­mers coor­di­nate their sched­ules to make tour­ing ratio­nal. Pro­fes­sion­al prac­tices already exist, as well as projects to sup­port them : CooProg pro­vides pro­fes­sion­als with the tools they need to facil­i­tate their work. CooProg is a free, open-access plat­form that allows you to man­age your sched­ul­ing calendar(s) (from sim­ple inten­tions to con­firmed dates), artist infor­ma­tion and a geolo­cat­ed view of the tour, all in one place…
Hands-on work­shops for groups of 2 or 3 pro­gram­mers will be held at the booth, in French and Eng­lish.
